TMW amends their maximum age criteria

Aaron Strutt Image
The Mortgage Works (TMW), the buy-to-let lending arm of the Nationwide, has adjusted its maximum age criteria making it harder for older experienced landlords to get a mortgage. The lender's maximum age at application is currently 84, although this is being reduced to 70 years. This lowers the already small number of mortgage lenders offering older borrowers buy-to-let mortgages.   One small positive is that TMW will potentially offer a 35 year mortgage term, allowing applicants below 70 years of age to buy property as a long term investment.
