Paul Tucker has announced his intention to leave the Bank of England sometime this Autumn. Once he leaves, he plans to spend time in academia in the United States. Mr Tucker was appointed Deputy Governor for Financial Stability at the Bank of England in 2009. He originally agreed a five year term and he was scheduled to finish in 2014. Commenting on his decision to leave the bank Mr Tucker said: "It has been an extraordinary honour to serve at the Bank of England over the past thirty years. I am very proud that, through the Bank and the wider central banking community, I have been able to make a contribution to monetary and financial stability. I will continue to do so in the coming months. I am looking forward to supporting Mark Carney as he arrives at the Bank." June 14, 2013
