One in four not shopping around for a mortgage
Many homeowners are not comparing enough of their mortgage options and regret not seeking independent mortgage advice, according to research from Which? magazine.
Their research shows that borrowers are not doing their homework when choosing a mortgage. One quarter (23%) who have taken out a mortgage or remortgaged their property in the past five years say they did not shop around enough.
Approximately four in ten respondents to the Which? survey took out a mortgage with their main bank account provider. One in five (19%) said they regretted not seeking independent advice.
