Mark Prisk replaces Grant Shapps as housing minister

The Minister for business and enterprise Mark Prisk has replaced Grant Shapps as housing minister, who has become the new Conservative Party chairman. He was first elected as the Member of Parliament for Hertford and Stortford in 2001, with over 44% of the vote. In 2005, he increased his majority to over 13,000, or 50.5%. Mr Prisk has been in his role at the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills since May 2010 and he is a chartered surveyor by profession. Housing minister Grant Shapps has been confirmed as the new Conservative Party chairman and he will replace Baroness Warsi, who becomes senior foreign office minister. September 7, 2012
