HSBC mortgage application delays

HSBC has said that they are taking 56 days on average to complete and offer mortgage applications, although some may take up to 84 days.

According to figures in The Sunday Times, Aldermore Bank and Halifax are taking 13 days on average to produce a mortgage offer, while ING Direct and RBS Group are taking around 18 days.

If you apply to the Nationwide Building Society for a mortgage, it is will take approximately 20 days to secure a mortgage offer.

Jed Newton, a director at Trinity Financial, says: “Many of our clients need a fast mortgage offer and we specifically target lenders with leading rates and quick turnaround times. 

“It is particularly important for purchase transactions to be offered quickly in this fast moving market. If you would like help securing a mortgage or you are in a hurry to complete, give us a call. We recently secured a mortgage offer from one high-street lender in five working days.”
