Diplomat mortgages available through Trinity Financial
Trinity has access to one lender happy to offer mortgages to foreign diplomats living and working in the UK.
Nearly all of the high-street banks and building societies will not even consider lending particularly if borrowers are immune from selected UK laws.
This bank offers a choice of three mortgages, including a LIBOR tracker and a two and five year fixed rate.
The arrangement fee to secure these mortgages is 1.25% of the loan amount and the minimum loan size is £250,000. They will also need to have a substantial 50% deposit.
Aaron Strutt, product manager at Trinity Financial, says: “It can be a complex process to secure a mortgage for diplomats as the banks and building societies are worried about getting their money back if the property is repossessed.
“Although, for the right client we should be able to help, even if applicants are not paid in pounds or required to pay UK taxes.”
