Choosing the right mortgage isn’t only about selecting the deal with the cheapest rate. For borrowers looking to remortgage or first-timers seeking to purchase their starter home, choosing a lender that provides a first-class service if and when you need assistance is just as important.
Ella Radzik moved into her first home this week, a one-bedroom flat in Crystal Palace, and says that getting a mortgage was made easier by using a broker. Radzik, 36, has taken a mortgage with Woolwich, through Trinity Financial. Woolwich, the mortgage arm of Barclays, does not score highly in Fairer Finance’s survey, but Radzik says: “The offer was made quickly and so I was pleased with the service. To be honest, I was more concerned about securing the mortgage offer rather than the right provider.”
