Trinity Financial judge mortgage providers at the 2015 Moneywise awards

Trinity Financial were asked to compile the data for the 2015 Moneywise awards and be on the panel of judges at the ceremony in London last month.

As part of the process of selecting the leading lenders, Trinity compiled shortlists for each category for Moneywise magazine, based on best-buy data from the 12 month to 21 April 2015. The shortlists featured the lenders that offered the most competitive rates throughout the year.

Once the data was compiled, the shortlist was then passed to a panel of judges (including Aaron Strutt, Trinity's product manager) who selected the winners and runners-up for each category. This was not simply based on the lender's rates but also on their fees, early repayment charges, lending flexibility, service standards and their treatment of new and existing customers. 

The judges also looked at the relationship between the mortgage lenders and the Bank of England base rate, also their standard variable rates. Finally, the value of any incentives such as free property valuations and cash back payments.
