The Times - RBS gives mortgage break to flood victims

RBS and NatWest are from today offering customers whose homes have been damaged by the floods the chance to apply for a three-month mortgage repayment holiday. RBS and NatWest which control 8 per cent of the mortgage market, rarely offer payment breaks, so their move is a significant help, according to Aaron Strutt, of Trinity Financial, the mortgage broker. He went onto say: “NatWest and RBS don’t tend to offer existing customers payment holidays, even if they have been overpaying on their mortgage. The lenders are making a specific policy to help flood victims struggling to pay their mortgage at this particularly difficult time. There is a chance other lenders will not be so helpful. But if your home has been affected most responsible lenders should find a way to assist you.” Click here to view the full story in The Times £ We are not responsible for the accuracy of the information contained within the linked sites accessible from this page.
