The Times - Use a broker to get the best remortgage deals
Is your current mortgage deal coming to an end? If you haven’t already remortgaged, consider doing so now. Mortgage rates have fallen to record lows, with two-year fixes now approaching just 1 per cent and even rates for those with small deposits plummeting.
Banks and building societies have until recently complained that too few homeowners were taking advantage of the new rates, instead sticking to their standard variable rates — the expensive default rate when they came to the end of their agreed term.
“It’s increasingly important that borrowers consider a broker,” says Aaron Strutt, of Trinity Financial. “Obviously we brokers are going to say that, but when such huge savings are on offer, it really does make a difference.”
