Jessie Hewitson at The Times explains that "Christmas has come early for homebuyers with supersized mortgages as lenders engage in a price war for jumbo-sized loans of more than £500,000."
Aaron Strutt, a mortgage broker at Trinity Financial, says: “As the top end of the property market has slowed after increased stamp-duty charges, lenders have had to lower their rates to attract customers at this level. And it looks as though rates might come down even further.”
