The buy-to-let market has cooled after tougher tax rules from the government but while many landlords are selling, more experienced landlords are holding their nerve.

Leeds Building Society’s Easy Start buy-to-let mortgage waives the interest for the first three months of the loan. 

Aaron Strutt of Trinity Financial told The Times: “The first three months can be quite tricky: you have just paid stamp duty and need to furnish the place, and you may not have a tenant in for the first couple of months. This product gives you respite from making mortgage payments.”
