The Times - Demand hastens return of self-cert mortgages
It’s official — a mortgage lender has launched bank into the self-certification mortgage market.
Aaron Strutt, at Trinity Financial, says: “We never dreamt we would see the return of self-cert mortgages.
“There will be many self-employed people stuck on expensive SVRs who will be happy there is finally an option for them — and won’t mind who the lender is or where the money comes from. This might well open the floodgates for more companies to follow suit. It is not something that will return to the high street, though.”
