Aaron Strutt of the broker Trinity Financial, told The Sunday Times: “We regularly speak to clients who took out mortgages through Bank of Scotland and Mortgage Express and they are struggling to secure new rates.
“Over the years, a lot of lenders have been swallowed up by bigger banks and building societies. Some great brands, such as Alliance & Leicester, have disappeared from the market and their customers have been forced to switch.”
