Buy-to-let investors have been warned that annual returns are set to slump by almost 40% over the next four years because of stagnating rental income and slower increases in house prices. The most competitive two-year buy-to-let deal is from the Mortgage Works at 2.49%, according to the broker Trinity Financial. It requires a 40% deposit. However, the deal comes with a hefty 2.5% fee, which means shelling out £5,000 on a £200,000 loan.
