The Sunday Times - Banks end deals for buy-to-let family properties

Parents may soon find it harder to purchase buy-to-let properties for their children to live in, as lenders start to clamp down on the deals that made this possible.

Aaron Strutt of broker Trinity Financial said: "There are now even fewer options for parents wanting to invest in property and help their children gain independence by moving out of the family home or rented accommodation."

Demand for buy-to-let property is getting stronger and there are a number of parents that like the idea of letting their children live in the investment. Without this they will need to put down a bigger deposit and apply for a second home mortgage.
