The Telegraph - British expats: how easy is it to get a mortgage in the UK?
Almost four million British people live overseas according to the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics.
Aaron Strutt, of Trinity Financial, told The Telegraph: “We are speaking to a lot of expats at the moment. It’s picked up recently from countries like Dubai and the US.”
Not many of the high street banks offer expat mortgages so they are available through the specialist lenders and smaller building societies.
He added: “Getting an expat mortgage isn’t always straightforward but there are a lot more lenders offering them now than there were a few years ago.”
