Clydesdale Bank is one of the first lenders to start offering an almost full range of mortgages following the restart of physical valuations and property viewings in England.

From Thursday 28 May the bank has made its residential mortgages available to borrowers with 10% deposits and buy-to-let mortgages available to landlords with 20% deposits.

Clydesdale Bank has reversed the temporary limits it had on loan sizes and property values and reinstatemuch of its previous acceptance criteria. The lender is also providing £1 million+ loans, mortgages for professionals with more generous income multiples and mortgages for new build properties.

Aaron Strutt, product director at Trinity Financial, says: “Clydesdale's cheapest fixed rate is available below 1.5% and it has a range of mortgages with £999 arrangement fees. It provides deals to first-time buyers with a 10% deposit, mortgages over £500,000 and more generous income multiples for professionals like doctors and accountants.

“Our brokers regularly use Clydesdale to get mortgages agreed because the lender has flexible acceptance criteria. It accepts retained profits for the self-employed and can work quickly to get cases agreed if borrowers are in a rush to complete."

The bank will also be offering a free property valuation incentive across all of its purchase and remortgage ranges up to a maximum property value of £3 million.
